The federal program has been extended to August 31. The design of CERCA was undertaken by the federal government and Nova Scotia has been providing feedback that it receives on the program to the CMHC.
Nova Scotia has contributed $9.1-million as our share of the provincial cost-sharing portion of CERCA. As of July 26, 417 Nova Scotian landlords have applied for CERCA, with $5.3-million in assistance requested (NS cost-share portion is $1.33-million). This represents 756 impacted tenants.
There is a Ministerial Order restricting commercial evictions under the State of Emergency which has been extended to September 6.
