JHAL Ltd is undertaking to build a new home that will be a fully accessible and sprinklered 4-bedroom adult special needs home. After a lot of work, JHAL Ltd is pleased to have the project posted for tender.  Construction is expected to begin in August with completion in 2020.

Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA) Enforcement Team Resumes Worksite Visits

A reminder that the NSAA’s Enforcement team has resumed worksite visits to support compliance with the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act. Individuals working in the compulsory certified trades must be a registered apprentice or have a Certificate of Qualification to work legally in the trade. Compliance Officers will ensure physical distancing, use personal protective equipment and follow public health guidelines in this work.

Funding Reminder for Apprentices from the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA)

Apprentices are reminded of the financial support available through the Canada Apprentice Loan. The Canada Apprentice Loan is a federal initiative to help you complete your apprenticeship in a designated Red Seal trade. With the Canada Apprentice Loan, an apprentice can receive up to $4,000 in interest-free loans per level of technical training. In addition, grants are available from the federal government for completion of level 1, level 2 and the final level of technical training in Red Seal trades. Financial awards are available from the NSAA for level 3 progression in Red Seal and provincial trades and for completion of the final level of technical training in provincial trades. For more information on the financial awards click here.

CANS Office Reopens June 24 & Update from CANS Projects & Documents Services

We’ve missed you! CANS is excited to reopen our doors and offer you the Projects & Documents services we had to suspend in March due to the global pandemic. As of today, Wednesday, June 24, CANS Dartmouth office has reopened to our membership and will resume offering the following in-person services: print orders, the sale of CCDC & CCA Standard Documents, and the signing of Statutory Declarations.
