News // Government of Canada extends loan forgiveness repayment deadline for the Canada Emergency Business Account

On January 12, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, announced that the repayment deadline for CEBA loans to qualify for partial loan forgiveness is being extended from December 31, 2022, to December 31, 2023, for all eligible borrowers in good standing.

Statistics // Nova Scotia Building Permits Increased 35.5% in November 2021

In November 2021, Nova Scotia’s total building permits (residential and non-residential) increased 35.5% to $275.4 million. Halifax permits increased 82.2% to $202.7 million. Outside the city, permit values decreased 21.0% to $72.7 million.
