Environment Canada has issued an alert for a winter storm that will bring an extended period of potentially severe freezing rain over parts of Nova Scotia. Inclement weather is expected to begin tonight, Thursday, February 3, and continue into Saturday. We strongly suggest you ensure your worksites are secured in advance of this storm. Please check Environment Canada’s website for further updates.

Statistics // Investment in Nova Scotia building construction increased 5.8% in November 2021

In Halifax, monthly building construction increased 3.9% in November 2021 and outside of Halifax building construction increased 7.7%.

News // Government of Canada extends loan forgiveness repayment deadline for the Canada Emergency Business Account

On January 12, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, announced that the repayment deadline for CEBA loans to qualify for partial loan forgiveness is being extended from December 31, 2022, to December 31, 2023, for all eligible borrowers in good standing.
