CANS Team is growing — July 2024 update

Over the past few months, we’ve had some new faces join the team and a few of our existing team members have seen their titles change as their roles expand. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating these members of CANS team.

Kathy Derksen, Executive Assistant

CANS is pleased to welcome Kathy Derksen to the team as our new Executive Assistant. Kathy joins CANS team with over 20 years as an administrative professional, with experience working with boards, office management and managing stakeholder relations. We’re excited to have her on the team helping us manage CANS day-to-day operations.


Reid Allen, Education & Training Specialist

Reid joins the CANS team with a proven track record in internal and external sales with companies such as Atlantic Cat, Green Diamond Equipment and Arrow Electronics. Reid looks forward to connecting with members as he settles into his role, and we are confident he will be a wonderful asset to the CANS Education & Training team.

Rob Lewis, Vice President, Finance & Information Services

CANS is pleased to share that Rob Lewis has been elevated to the position of Vice President, Finance and Information Services! Rob has been with CANS nearly 16 years and progressively taken on more challenging roles and responsibilities within the organization. As Vice President, Finance & Information Services, Rob will oversee our finance and project teams.


Michelle Fievet, Manager, Events

CANS is very excited to share that Michelle Fievet has been promoted to Manager, Events. Michelle has been instrumental in the strategy behind growing our events over the last number of years and is always keeping event integrity front of mind.


Taylor Shaw, Research, Program & Policy Lead

Having joined CANS in 2021, Taylor’s role was recently restructured to support the Association’s growth and program development. As Research, Program and Policy Lead, Taylor is responsible for research and analysis that informs the development of evidence-based policy recommendations that support CANS growth and best interests.
