Building Performance a Focus in B.C. Climate Plan
British Columbia’s recently unveiled Climate Leadership Plan expects to create up to 66,000 jobs over the next 10 years and reduce net annual greenhouse gas emissions with building performance key to hitting those targets. Manley McLachlan, president of the B.C. Construction Association, believes the plan is a good balance between setting climate standards while being cognizant of the needs of the province’s economy. He said that the climate plan is part of a shift in the construction industry past LEED certifications and towards building performance. Read more
