Out of an abundance of caution due to COVID case numbers, CANS office will remain closed to members the week of May 17, while still offering CANS services remotely/virtually.

Concerning today’s announcement from the province, the Department of Labour and Advanced Education (DLAE) have reiterated that the new restrictions do not change how construction is viewed in terms of being seen as essential. The following guidance was provided for the construction industry.
This temporary change means that covered employers will have one less bill to worry about for at least a few months, as together our province continues to experience the extended impact of this global pandemic.
OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE: In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, CANS is taking proactive measures to reduce the spread of the virus. Out of an abundance of caution, CANS office will close TODAY, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 4:00 pm and remain closed until May 17, at which point we will re-evaluate.

Today, May 4, the Rankin government announced more than $12 million in additional support for Nova Scotia businesses hit hard by the pandemic and facing province-wide restrictions. These announcements made today are for businesses that were required to close due to this third wave.
