With rising employment stable and falling labour force, Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate declined from 7.0% in June 2022 to 5.9% in July 2022. This is the lowest unemployment rate in monthly labour force survey records dating back to 1976, though lower unemployment rates were recorded in the early 1970s.
Nova Scotia’s total building permits (residential and non-residential) decreased 11.8% to $229.2 million.
Investment in Nova Scotia building construction increased 6.7% in June 2022 to $512.6 million. Halifax monthly building construction increased 22.9% to $308.2 million while outside of Halifax building construction decreased 10.9% to $204.3 million.
The Membership Lead is responsible for the recruitment of new members and the retention of existing members. This position will be responsible for identifying specific opportunities to both maintain and increase membership.
