Permit, Planning, Licensing & Compliance Project – Solution Transition & Permit Application Intake
TO: Development Liaison Group
CC: Jacques Dubé, CAO
FROM: Kelly Denty, Director, Planning & Development
DATE: November 19, 2020
The Permit, Planning, Licensing & Compliance Project (PPL&C) is soon going live and the countdown is on. HRM is planning to go live with its Permitting, Planning, Licensing and Compliance solution on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. To assist in the transition to the new software, we plan to pause on accepting permit applications on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. This will give staff time to process and review outstanding permit applications that are being submitted under our current system. Reviews and inspections will continue throughout the transition period, however, from November 24 at 5:00 p.m. until November 30 at 9:00 a.m. no new permit applications will be accepted. Subdivision applications and zoning requests will still be able to be submitted via our online submission form.
We look forward to launching the new solution and sharing all its capabilities with you.
Here’s a reminder of some of the new features:
- Estimate fees before applying for a permit
- Apply & search for a permit/application
- Print your own permit as soon as it is ready
- Full integration with our GIS map database
- Secure online payments accepted
- Submit E-plans online
- Request inspections & review results online
- Unified records
- Access your account 24/7 – when it’s convenient for you
We will provide another update on November 24th to inform you on the status of our implementation plan.
Thank you for your patience through this transition.
