Federal Candidates Show Their Support for the Construction Industry in Construction for Canadians Campaign

As the 2025 federal election heats up, candidates from all parties are uniting to show their support for Canada’s economic engine: the construction industry. Through the Construction for Canadians campaign, federal candidates acknowledge the essential role played by construction and celebrate the value the industry brings to the country’s economy and the lives of everyday Canadians.

“Construction is the backbone of Canada’s economy,” said Duncan Williams, President and CEO of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS). “It’s not just about buildings and infrastructure — it’s about jobs, growth, and the well-being of every community across the country.”

The campaign provides candidates with a platform to show their support for Canada’s construction industry and the hard-working Canadians who make infrastructure development and economic growth possible. Candidates from all parties, from across the country, in both official languages, have recorded videos expressing their appreciation and highlighting the industry’s importance in their local communities.

“We’re proud to see federal leaders recognize the critical contributions of the construction industry,” added Williams. “This campaign is a reminder that when we invest in construction, we’re investing in a stronger, more resilient Canada.”

Because construction isn’t just about building homes — it’s about building a country. From roads and water systems to hospitals, schools, and trade corridors, construction is responsible for the critical, community-enabling infrastructure that shapes Canadians’ daily lives and drives economic growth. With the federal election just weeks away, candidates from all parties must show their support for key Canadian industries — that means showing support for construction.

All candidates are encouraged to submit a video to tshaw@cans.ns.ca.
